michelleallegra I have always been someone who is so interested by things that are more atypical, not your norm, avante-garde if you will. As a you dancer, I was always so intrigued by contorted movement and things that were dramatic.
Coming back to today where its been a little over a year since I first started blogging, I recently started getting bored of the repetition of my photos (cute outfit, good pose, next location). I was craving that contorted mindset that I was once so surrounded by.
I decided about a month ago that I wanted to work on a project that was unlike any shoot I had done before. No props, no shoes, no crazy outfit; just me, some cloth (something simple) and my surroundings (and ofcourse rebeccaš). Then of-course with this project, came the location. My first idea was to shoot at a castle like @ohekacastle, but unfortunately after doing my research, the space is private and professional photography is not allowed without a permit. Alec and I did some more research and he came upon @wavehill. If you have never heard of it, you have now and you must check it out. This is a completely public garden in the Bronx (completely free). I am so thankful to have come across this place cause it is truly spectacular.
I tell you all of this as I am so proud and thankful for how this project turned out and I say all of this to remind you to push yourself past your limits. Donāt continue to do something just because itās what everyone else is doing, do it because you want and its what you creatively want to do. Thank you to @shot_by_her for helping me create my vision and to @officiallyquigley, @paigearminta, @madmavenstyle, @josie_sanders @champagneunicorns for all of my photo, location and movement inspiration.
I canāt say this enough but I am so thankful for this platform for inadvertently inspiring me to create. I didnāt have any expectations when starting a blog other than putting myself out there, and I have learned an incredible amount about myself and my ambitions in the past year since starting. **** disclaimer, I loved all this content so much that it goes on for about 3 weeks so I apologize in adviance but truly hope you follow along.
