michelleallegra Happy NYFW! I have an important message for you for the week ahead thats keeping me growned this week to so READ ON! . . In a world full of apples, Be a Pineapple, you’ll live life much better that way. . . Don’t be afraid to be different, be looked at twice when walking down the street, have people laugh at you for the things in life they just don’t understand. It’s ok to be you 100% of the time, whoever you are meant to be. For years as I kid in elementary school I was made fun of, kicked, spit on and degraded just because I didn’t look like every other very much maturing girl in my grade. I had a flat chest till the age of 16, crazy frizzy hair and the ugliest glasses I probably could have picked out. As I got older ( and I mean around 13), through other obstacles of my life I found fashion; not your typical style that you would see on me today but this crazy style that I created. Not only did a new school district help where no one knew who I was, but no one could stop looking at me for the way I dressed and to my surprise they loved it! I was being 100% me and I was finally comfortable in my own skin. It didn’t matter what glasses I was wearing, what my boob size was or what my body shape was, my classmates liked me for me. So please, in a world full of apples, be a pineapple. . . I really think this pertains to those following NYFW and or attending it. It’s ok to get jealous about not being invited to events or taking a day off to relax. We are where we are and we are who we are .We have to try to stay grounded and remember what we have and what we love. I for sure wasn’t even close to being invited to all of the big events happening this week but to be honest, I shouldn’t be. I respect the growth process and my time will come if I work hard enough and stay as true to my “brand” and my message as possible. It’s important if you are in this industry to look back and reflect on why you started. I started my brand to create and inspire others to be their best selves even when the going gets tough. No show or event that I was or wasn’t invited to is going to change that. Take it or leave it but that’s the best advise I can honestly give. 📸 @shot_by_her
